This painting was created from a group class I taught. I thoroughly enjoyed the reaction, discovery, and fun that was generated as a group painting. The joy is always experimenting and trying new techniques. This time the secret was circular blending and starting from the center and moving outward. The best part was splattering at the end!

Today I etched out where to paint and started from the top with the sky and clouds. Color is often central and has a message all of it own in regards to the painting. As you look closely you can see how this lighthouse is encircled by a combination these two calming blue colors which is a reminder of the the strength and reassurance that a lighthouse brings. But what I love most about this painting is the emerging granite rocks which will truly enhance the greatness and prominence of this beacon landmark treasure.
